ARMA's accounts received USD 709,415. ARMA received USD 709,415 as a result of the purchase of USD 31 million in foreign currency Military Bonds in July. These funds will be transferred to the State Budget of Ukraine.
The amount of the purchased bonds includes, in particular, the seized funds of russian sanctioned individuals and companies.
It is worth reminding that ARMA is the only government agency in Ukraine that can purchase domestic government bonds, or “ Military Bonds”. Active purchases of Military Bonds have already been made for the amount of about UAH 5.5 billion in equivalent.
“Thanks to the legislative changes initiated by ARMA, the Agency can purchase government bonds using seized funds in foreign currency. In addition to the already purchased USD 31 million worth of Military Bonds, it is planned to purchase additional bonds worth EUR 6.5 million in early September,” said Olena Duma, Head of ARMA.
It is worth noting that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the volume of foreign currency government bonds to be purchased by ARMA on July 2, 2024. According to the schedule of placement of domestic government bonds for the third quarter of 2024, published on the website of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the next auction for the placement of bonds in euros is scheduled for September 10, 2024. It is at this auction that ARMA will purchase EUR 6.5 million worth of government bonds.
ARMA continues to effectively manage seized funds, in particular to support Ukraine's defense. All proceeds from the National Agency's purchases of Military Bonds are used to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Budget.
