As part of a three-day special seminar on financial investigations and cryptocurrency-related crimes, which started on 30 January 2024 in Poltava, Vitalii Chubaievskyi, Head of the Asset Finding and Tracing Department of the ARMA, presented a report on the role of the ARMA in investigating financial crimes related to cryptocurrency.
In addition to Vitalii Chubaievskyi, the Agency was represented by Serhiy Belov, Head of the ARMA Department.
The course, which was held at National University «Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic», was organised by the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform in Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine).
During the seminar, law enforcement officers and students learned about the specifics of cryptocurrency investigations and OSINT, as well as strategies to combat tax fraud and tax evasion during border crossings. The participants also focused on the need to improve interagency cooperation in the area of asset recovery.
Andriy Baran, EUAM Senior Adviser in Ukraine, emphasised the importance of the participation of higher education institutions in the reform process in Ukraine.
On behalf of the Head of ARMA, Olena Duma, Vitalii Chubaievskyi officially thanked EUAM representatives, EUAM Senior Adviser Andriy Baran and EUAM Criminal Investigations Expert Rostyslav Tiutiunnyk, for organising the seminar, inviting the National Agency and providing an opportunity to present the work of the state agency.
Finally, Andriy Baran presented certificates of participation in the workshop to the participants.
