ARMA participates in INTERPOL Global Conference on Anti-Corruption and Asset Recovery in Abu Dhabi

12-11-2025

The Asset Recovery and Management Agency is participating in the Global Conference on Anti-Corruption and Asset Recovery, which is being held in Abu Dhabi under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police.

This international event is an important platform for discussing current challenges related to money laundering, corruption and the illegal use of assets. It is attended by heads of law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, asset recovery offices and government representatives from over 90 countries.

The ARMA delegation is led by Acting Head of the Agency Yaroslava Maksymenko. The delegation also includes Anna Makarenko, Head of the Department of Finding, Tracing and Recovery of Assets in Foreign Jurisdictions, and Maksym Pasik, Head of the Department of Finding and Tracing Assets of Sanctioned and Other Entities that Pose Threats to National Interests.

On the first day of the conference, participants discussed current practices for identifying, tracing, returning and managing assets, as well as mechanisms for informal cooperation between jurisdictions in cases requiring rapid response. The initiatives announced at the event will contribute to the expansion of Ukraine's cooperation with international partners, particularly in the field of digital tools, data exchange and the improvement of professional competencies of specialists.

"Corruption knows no borders, so our response must be global. ARMA works side by side with partners within the Interpol system to strengthen mechanisms for identifying, seizing and returning assets obtained through criminal means. Our common challenge is to transform anti-corruption tools into effective institutions and our shared responsibility into a shared result. The agency is building an effective system for managing seized assets, combining legal instruments, digital solutions and international partnerships," emphasised Yaroslava Maksymenko, adding that ARMA continues to consistently uphold the principles of transparency, accountability and international solidarity in the fight against financial crime.
