In implementation of a Government decision, the Asset Recovery and ManagementAgency has begun preparing seized real estate assets for the accommodation ofinternally displaced persons (IDPs).
“We are launching systematic work to prepare seized assets for housing IDPs. At thefirst stage, a number of large facilities have been identified, including hotels, sanatoriums, and other residential premises across various regions of Ukraine. Ourtask is to ensure that these assets do not remain idle but are used effectively in theinterests of citizens, particularly those who have lost their homes due to the war”,said Yaroslava Maksymenko, Acting Head of ARMA.
The transfer of seized assets will be carried out within the framework of themechanism provided for in Article 21-1 of the Law of Ukraine “On the AssetRecovery and Management Agency”.
Currently, ARMA is assessing the technical condition of the premises and theirpotential for adaptation for residential use. Based on the findings, proposals are beingprepared for further Government decisions. The identification and transfer of assetswill take place on an ongoing basis in coordination with relevant state authorities andlaw enforcement agencies.
