The Government has supported the amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1233 “Some Issues of Management of Assets Seized for the State Revenue” dated 21.11.2023 developed by the National Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA). This will allow for the effective use of sanctioned monetary assets seized in criminal proceedings and transferred to ARMA.
Thanks to the new mechanism, ARMA will be able to sell military bonds purchased with sanctioned assets in agreement with the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and transfer the proceeds to the state budget to replenish the Fund for the Liquidation of the Consequences of Armed Aggression. This mechanism is fast and efficient for the state.
Scope of management:
ARMA currently manages sanctioned monetary assets seized in criminal proceedings totaling over UAH 5.5 billion, of which:
- 4.5 billion UAH
- 22 million US dollars
- 3.5 million euros
Results already achieved:
- ARMA has transferred more than 423 million UAH to the Fund for Liquidation of Consequences of Armed Aggression. These funds were received from the management of seized assets of LLC «Royal PAYE».
- Military bonds worth 1.75 billion UAH and 3.43 million USD were collected in favor of the state
Earlier, ARMA wrote off and allocated these funds to support Ukraine's defense capability and economy through the purchase of Military Bonds in national and foreign currencies.
