The Asset Recovery and Management Agency is deepening its cooperation with European partners in the field of virtual currency analysis, blockchain technologies, and encryption for financial investigations.
At the invitation of the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine, Yevheniya Kalitina, Head of the First Division of the Department for the Finding, Tracing and Recovery of Assets in Foreign Jurisd, took part in an exchange of experience on advanced European practices in cryptocurrency investigations.
The event took place on June 23-24 at the Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna and brought together representatives of ARMA, the Cyber Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Bureau of Economic Security, and the State Financial Monitoring Service to study modern methods of analyzing transactions in virtual currencies.
Particular attention was paid to the practical use of the GraphSense platform, an open-source analytical tool for comprehensive analysis of blockchain transactions. The platform allows visualizing the movement of cryptocurrencies, identifying links between suspicious addresses, building wallet profiles, and automatically generating reports for financial intelligence.
Participants also learned about digital investigation methods, including cryptocurrency transaction tracing, and studied practical approaches to criminal analysis of financial flows used in EU countries when investigating crimes related to money laundering, corruption, and fraud involving virtual assets.
The implementation of European cryptocurrency analytics practices will strengthen ARMA's ability to effectively find and recover digital assets.
