The Asset Recovery and Management Agency received UAH 33.8 million from Naftogaz Group, the manager of the corporate rights of “Chornomornaftogaz” JSC.
These funds are counted as the first tranche of UAH 226.7 million, which the manager should transfer to the state budget in stages during the first half of 2024.
As a reminder, on May 25, the Pecherskyi District Court of the city of Kyiv, at the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, transferred the seized corporate rights of 26 regional and city gas distribution system operators to the ARMA.
The Government then supported ARMA's proposal to transfer 26 regional gas distribution companiesinto the “Chornomornaftogaz” management. The assets were transferred through a special procedure.
The National Agency entered into an agreement with “Chornomornaftogaz” on
July 5, 2022, to manage the corporate rights of Firtash's regional gas distribution companies.
On October 17, 2023, the ARMA initiated the creation of an Interagency Working Group with the SSU on Firtash's regional gas distribution companies. The group was entrusted with the following tasks: ensuring that the necessary information and documents are obtained, preventing resistance and providing for effective management, including issues related to the redistribution of profits at the end of the year, as provided for in the management agreement.
ARMA's strategic goal is to ensure that the state budget receives revenues from the effective management of seized property. In addition, it is crucial for the Agency to ensure the stable operation of critical infrastructure facilities managed by ARMA that supply gas to the country's regions.
