With the support of the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine), the Digital Detective (D30) program held a Strategic Session "Creating a Digital Detective Profession".
The event brought together leading experts from law enforcement agencies and academic institutions of Ukraine: Asset Recovery and Management Agency (Department of Information and Analytical Support for Finding and Tracing of Assets), National Police of Ukraine, National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, State Bureau of Investigation, Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine, Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, the State Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Technical University of Ukraine.
During the session, discussions were held on identifying key competencies and qualification requirements, discussing prospects and challenges in training specialists, defining the principles that will guide the work of a digital detective, and identifying necessary changes in curricula and practices.
An important result of the event was the establishment of interaction between law enforcement agencies and educational institutions, which will facilitate the exchange of experience and expand opportunities for cooperation.
In turn, ARMA is actively introduces digital technologies in its asset finding and management activities. Currently, the Agency has created a special unit that analyzes digital media with the help of special software to further identify the assets of those involved in criminal cases both in Ukraine and abroad.
