ARMA to sell mining farm illegally installed on state enterprise premises

22-05-2025

In accordance with the decision of the Lychakiv District Court of Lviv, the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) has accepted for management a batch of technical equipment used for cryptocurrency mining, which was seized as part of a criminal scheme involving the embezzlement of state enterprise funds. The equipment will be sold in accordance with the established procedures.

In line with the findings with the pre-trial investigation, officials of one of the branches of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine’ misused their official position by organizing illegal cryptocurrency mining operations on the premises of a forestry office. It refers to the misuse of authority during martial law for private enrichment.

Pursuant to the order of the Head of ARMA, the Western Interregional Territorial Department conducted an inspection of the asset to verify its availability, integrity, and operational suitability. The inspection findings were confirmed by the conclusions of a comprehensive forensic examination in the fields of computer, technical, and communications systems, which established that the equipment is in good condition and capable of mining cryptocurrencies under appropriate conditions.

ARMA is finalizing a competitive procedure to appoint an entity responsible for selling the seized equipment. This is yet another example of how the Agency transforms criminal assets into legal revenue for the state — ensuring transparency and efficiency.
