Acting Head of Asset Recovery and Management Agency Yaroslava Maksymenko has initiated an internal investigation into circumstances reported in the media regarding the possible involvement of certain ARMA employees in a high-profile investigation by law enforcement agencies known as Operation Midas.
The purpose of the audit is to establish the facts, provide an objective assessment of compliance with legal requirements and internal standards, and identify potential violations by ARMA officials. If the facts of improper conduct are confirmed, appropriate disciplinary and personnel decisions may be taken.
ARMA consistently upholds the principles of integrity, legality and transparency, which are part of the global fight against corruption and enshrined in Ukraine's international obligations, in particular in the United Nations Convention Against Corruption. The Agency consistently responds to any information that may indicate illegal activity, conflict of interest or other violations.
Ensuring internal accountability and monitoring compliance with ethical standards is an important element in both strengthening ARMA's institutional capacity and fulfilling Ukraine's international obligations in the field of anti-corruption.
