The Head of the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes, Olena Duma, and the Vice President of the Czech-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Markus Ciupek, signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutions.
The document aims to develop systematic cooperation in the field of recovery of seized assets. Particular attention is given to cooperation on identifying and recovering russian assets located in the Czech Republic.
During the signing ceremony, the Head of ARMA, Olena Duma, spoke about the Agency's achievements and the challenges it faces in the field of asset tracing and management.
"We see the real results of ARMA’s work and are ready to support the Agency, as this means helping Ukraine to turn the enemy’s assets against the enemy. We are ready to facilitate the recovery of russian seized assets located in the Czech Republic," said Michaela Macharik, President of the Czech-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
"We thank the Czech Republic and the Czech people for supporting Ukraine. The importance of recovering criminally misappropriated assets for our country's economic recovery cannot be overstated. We are working systematically on this, and together with the Czech-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, we will continue working on russian seized assets in the Czech Republic," said Olena Duma, Head of ARMA.
Deputy Head of ARMA, Grigol Katamadze, also shared the results of ARMA’s international cooperation: "This agreement is further proof that the international community is ready to support Ukraine in its fight for justice and the recovery of stolen assets. We are not going to wait — we are already beginning our cooperation."
It should be noted that ARMA, at the request of law enforcement agencies, has found and traced assets worth more than $100 billion abroad. Each agreement signed with international partners is a concrete step toward the recovery and secure use of these assets for the benefit of Ukraine.
