On May 1, 2025, a meeting of the negotiating group on “Justice, Freedom and Security” (Title 24) was held, during which a draft Rule of Law Roadmap, a strategic document that will determine Ukraine's next steps towards European integration, was presented.
The Roadmap was developed with the participation of representatives of public authorities and civil society in consultation with experts from the European Commission. The document envisages the implementation of reforms and measures to strengthen the institutional capacity of law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies, ensure effective justice, protect human rights and fight organized crime.
Within thematic block IV “Justice, Freedom and Security”, Pavlo Velykorechanin, Deputy Head of the National Asset Recovery and Management Agency, presented item (d) “Confiscation, freezing of property and financial sanctions” in area 4.3 “Fighting organized crime”.
In his speech, Pavlo Velykorechanin emphasized: "The approaches proposed in the Roadmap are fully consistent with ARMA's current activities. Moreover, the Agency is already implementing a number of the envisaged measures in accordance with the current national legislation and taking into account the recommendations of international partners. This confirms Ukraine's readiness to consistently implement the best European practices in the field of finding, seizure, management and confiscation of assets obtained through criminal means."
The National Asset Recovery and Management Agency continues to work actively to strengthen the rule of law in Ukraine, bringing our country closer to full membership in the European Union.
