Head of ARMA Holds Working Meeting with Head of INTERPOL National Central Bureau in Ukraine: Focus on Strengthening Cooperation for Effective Asset Recovery

The Head of the National Asset Recovery and Management Agency Olena Dumamet with Ivan Gulpa, Head of the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Ukraine, Acting Head of the International Police Cooperation Department. The discussionfocused on establishing cooperation between ARMA and the units of the National Police of Ukraine that ensure international cooperation within the framework ofInterpol and Europol.

The purpose of the meeting was to deepen coordination between the agencies interms of tracing assets that may be located outside Ukraine, as well as in the fieldof information exchange. The parties outlined potential areas for strengthening theexchange of analytics, intelligence and the use of international channels ofcooperation to identify, seize and recover assets of criminal origin.

The Head of ARMA, Olena Duma, emphasized: "ARMA is open to deep andsystematic cooperation with the Ukrainian National Bureau of Interpol. We seegreat potential in combining our analytical capabilities with international policecooperation tools. Our common priority is to strengthen the security of the statethrough the effective identification and management of seized assets wherever theyare located."

In turn, Ivan Gulpa said: "Interpol and Europol are key partners of the National Police of Ukraine in international law enforcement cooperation. Their mechanismsallow us to effectively cooperate with other countries in the fight againsttransnational crime, in particular in the field of returning illegally obtained assets. Cooperation with ARMA is of strategic importance, as it is aimed not only atidentifying and seizing criminal assets, but also at preventing their reuse incriminal schemes. Today's meeting is an important step towards furtherstrengthening international coordination and effective use of Interpol and Europoltools to ensure Ukraine's financial security."

ARMA will continue to systematically deepen its partnership with lawenforcement agencies both in Ukraine and abroad. Coordination with Interpol andEuropol is a tool to strengthen the National Agency's capacity to find and recoverassets that will be important for strengthening the economy and recovery ofUkraine through their effective management by ARMA.
