On June 28, 1996, Ukraine enshrined its choice to be a sovereign, independent, democratic and rule-of-law state.

Over these thirty years, generations, governments and presidents have changed. What has remained unchanged is people's aspiration to live in their own country – free and independent.

Today, the Constitution Day has acquired a profound meaning – it is a reminder of what we are fighting for.

For the right to live on our own land, to determine our own future, to speak our native language, to wear the vyshyvanka and to instill love for our country in our children.

Thirty years for a person is a sign of maturity. Thirty years of the Constitution is a sign of the maturity of an entire nation, its achievements, aspirations and guiding principles.

We are still writing new pages of our history. But we know for certain that Ukraine was, is and will remain free.
