During an official visit to Skopje (to participate in an international conference on the Interpol Silver Notice pilot project), a working meeting was held between Anna Makarenko, Director of the Department of Finding, Tracing and Recovery of Assets in Foreign Jurisdictions of ARMA, and Larysa Dir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to North Macedonia.
The meeting focused on the prospects of cooperation between ARMA and the relevant authorities of North Macedonia in the field of finding and returning assets transferred abroad. The Embassy of Ukraine expressed its readiness to facilitate the development of this partnership at the level of interstate cooperation.
It should be noted that as part of the initiative to expand bilateral cooperation, ARMA sent a draft international interagency agreement on partnership and cooperation to the Agency for the Management of Seized and Confiscated Property of the Republic of North Macedonia. The document is currently being processed by the Macedonian side.
Particular attention was paid to the participation of the Ukrainian delegation in an international conference dedicated to the Interpol Silver Notice pilot project. This tool is designed to increase the effectiveness of global asset recovery, one of the key areas of ARMA's work.
The meeting in Skopje was another step towards consolidating efforts within the international law enforcement community and confirmed the important role of diplomatic missions in supporting ARMA's external activities.
