A meeting of the Scientific and Expert Council, an advisory body composed of academics and professionals to provide scientific and expert support for the Agency’s work, was held at ARMA.
“We count on the Council’s practical work and expert support on issues that require a professional scientific approach. It is important for ARMA that the new system for the management and recovery of assets operates systematically, predictably and in accordance with the principles of the rule of law”, Acting Head of ARMA Yaroslava Maksymenko said.
During the meeting, the key areas of the Council’s work were defined: improving the legislative and regulatory framework, bringing Ukrainian legislation closer to the legislation of the European Union in the field of asset recovery and confiscation, developing international cooperation and providing expert support for the Agency’s practical work.
“We want the knowledge and work of academics to bring real benefit to the state”, Nataliia Mazaraki, Head of the Scientific and Expert Council, emphasised.
The Council’s work will contribute to improving the quality of ARMA’s decisions and strengthening professional expertise in the field of asset tracing, management and recovery.
