Criminal proceedings by the SSU. New arrest of medvedchuk's yacht. We expect to receive a legalized decision of the Croatian court.
As a result of the criminal proceedings against viktor medvedchuk, which were registered in the URPI under various articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine with arguments regarding the ownership and value of the vessel, and the corresponding petition to the court, on August 26, 2024, a ruling was issued on :
- Seizure of the vessel Royal Romance, built in 2015, which is located in the Republic of Croatia
- Transfer of the seized yacht to the National Agency of Ukraine for finding, tracing and management of assets derived from corruption and other crimes for its sale.
Thus, ARMA, as the Temporary Shipowner of the yacht, having established the nationality of the vessel as the state of Ukraine, according to the Certificate of Temporary Right to Fly the State Flag of Ukraine N000053 dated 30.04.2024, is ready to announce a new tender for the sale of the yacht.
The world's auction houses are eagerly awaiting this announcement to participate in the competition.
For the first time, after the approval of the procedure for such a sale in December 2023, from January to June 2024, we went through a difficult path, facing: pressure from medvedchuk's lawyers, complaints to the authorities of different countries, resistance during the inspection of the vessel, lack of documents, appealing against the actions and decisions of the court, registration of the flag for the vessel, etc.
After selecting the winners of the tender, the agency, together with the world's auction houses and the Croatian side, worked out all the problematic and legal issues that would interfere with the implementation or facilitate the appeal of the decisions made.
On September 02, 2024, ARMA submitted a request to the General Prosecutor Office of Ukraine to start the process of obtaining legalization of the Ukrainian court decision in the jurisdiction of Croatia.
We count on the systematic and active work of the GPO in the framework of international legal assistance.
We express our gratitude to our partners in the EU for including viktor medvedchuk in the 14th Sanctions Package and for the additional decision to block all of medvedchuk's assets, which makes it impossible for them to return to the traitor-collaborator.
We believe that all our colleagues from the Republic of Croatia, with whom we have been actively working for six months to implement court decisions on the sale of medvedchuk's yacht by the National Agency, will make fair decisions in compliance with international rules and legislation, without delay.
