On December 25, 2024, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) issued a decision prohibiting the sale of seized property associated with Viktor Medvedchuk. This property includes items that have already been sold by the National Agency through Prozorro.Prodazhi, such as a Maybach car, watches, paintings, ATVs and buggies worth over 10.2 million UAH.
According to the court's ruling, the prohibition is justified by the possible risks of alienation and reduction in the value of assets owned by the defendants or their related companies. The court believes that the sale of these assets make it impossible to enforce the court decision in case the claims for their recovery to the state are satisfied.
At the same time, ARMA has already sold part of this property, and the proceeds were transferred to the state budget of Ukraine. However, the HACC decision casts doubt on the legality of such procedures in the Prozorro.Prodazhi system and undermines confidence in the transparent management of seized assets.
It is particularly strange that the court did not involve the National Agency in the case, although the HACC was informed that some of the assets had already been transferred for the needs of Ukraine's defense during the war. In particular, we are talking about a Gulfstream G650 airplane and a Bell-427 helicopter, which were sentto the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Agency has already suspended all active bidding to ensure the enforcement of the court decision and is preparing to appeal the decision in the appellate instance.
We expect a fair and lawful decision of the Appeals Chamber that will take into account the interests of the state and society. In this regard, an important question arises: will the same fate await medvedchuk's seized yacht Royal Romance, the sale of which will bring billions to the budget?
