Asset Tracing of Digital Assets and New Challenges to Economic Security: Results of ARMA’s Participation in an International Conference

The II International Scientific and Practical ConferenceEconomic Security and Financial Investigations in the Context of Global Digitalization: Prospects and Riskswas held at the State Tax University in Irpin.

The event brought together representatives of public authorities, law enforcementagencies, the academic community and international partners to discuss current challenges in the field of economic security and the development of financial investigations in the context of digital transformation.

Vitalii Chubaievskyi, Head of ARMA’s Department of Finding and Tracing of Financial and Other Assets, took part in the conference.

Among the key issues addressed by the participants were the use of big data analytics and OSINT tools in the process of asset finding and tracing, international digital information exchange, the development of artificial intelligence technologies, as well as challenges related to cybercrime, crypto assets and decentralized financial instruments.

Particular attention was paid to ARMA’s practical experience in asset tracing, digital interaction with banking institutions and the development of the Agency’s institutional capacity to work with digital assets.

The participants also discussed the need to ensure a balance between the effective use of digital technologies, respect for human rights, protection of personal data and adherence to the rule of law.

ARMA will continue to develop modern analytical tools, international cooperation and digital competencies necessary for the effective finding, tracing and recovery of assets obtained through criminal activities, as well as for strengthening Ukraine’s economic security.
