The 12th meeting of the Ukrainian-Latvian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation took place

The 12th meeting of the Ukrainian-Latvian Intergovernmental Commission onEconomic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was heldan importantplatform for intergovernmental dialogue, within which key issues of economicinteraction and financial cooperation are discussed.

Acting Head of ARMA, Yaroslava Maksymenko, took part in the event and, inparticular, informed the Latvian side about one of the cases related to the Agency’sactivities, in the context of criminal proceedings and interaction with a foreignfinancial institution.

The discussion concerned an asset transferred to ARMA for management in 2021 andsold through electronic auctions, as well as the subsequent legal status of theproceeds, which currently remain under arrest and are held in the Agency’s depositaccount in accordance with procedural decisions.

Yaroslava Maksymenko emphasized that all actions related to the management ofassets and funds are carried out strictly within the framework of the currentlegislation of Ukraine and on the basis of court decisions and that further steps arepossible only after the adoption of relevant procedural decisions.

During the meeting, the parties noted the importance of adhering to the principles ofthe rule of law and emphasized the significance of effective international cooperationin matters related to the protection of economic interests and asset management.

ARMA expressed gratitude to the Latvian side for supporting Ukraine and confirmedits openness to further constructive dialogue.
