Medvedchuk’s yacht: the risk of loss due to empty noise around a seized asset that was never even on ARMA’s balance sheet

12-09-2025

Medvedchuk’s yacht has become a hostage of manipulations fueled by empty statements that for two years misled society. This created only the appearance of active work, while the sole beneficiary was one person — Medvedchuk himself.

“Whoever shouts louder sells better” — a principle of street markets that does not work in today’s environment. The toxic background around the yacht has made it an increasingly unattractive asset for sale.

Facts:

  • Medvedchuk is under sanctions by Ukraine, the EU, and Croatia, and his property is subject to confiscation and enforcement;
  • the yacht seized in Croatia was never actually placed on ARMA’s balance sheet but remained only a seized asset.

This is not a technical mistake, but a signal of how the system functioned for years: more PR, fewer real actions. Facts hidden, work substituted with loud words — all at the expense of national interests.

Medvedchuk’s yacht is only a symptom of broader problems that accumulated over the years and undermined trust in the Agency. The audit of ARMA’s operations across all areas, initiated by Acting Head Yaroslava Maksymenko, is intended to uncover all such cases.

“Our goal is to build a system where:

  • every asset is registered, protected, and contributes to the recovery of the economy and defense capability;
  • management is open, competitive, and subject to audit;
  • the public can see clear and honest reporting.

An independent audit will demonstrate the real picture and state of affairs,” said Acting Head of ARMA Yaroslava Maksymenko.

ARMA will become a real force that protects the interests of the state. The time of empty promises is over — real action lies ahead.
