At the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets (ARMA) conducted asset-tracing activities related to unlawful activities in the field of subsoil use.
According to the investigation, the owner of a limited liability company had, over an extended period, organized the illegal extraction of sand-clay deposits beyond the boundaries of a licensed subsoil plot. As a result of these actions, the state suffered damages exceeding UAH 260 million.
Specialists from ARMA’s Department for Finding, Tracing of Financial and Other Assets carried out a comprehensive search for the assets of the criminal case suspect. The search identified and traced:
- 2 vehicles
- 5 real estate properties
- 10 land plots
The discovered information has been transferred to the competent law enforcement authority for the purpose of seizing the assets and subsequently transferring them to ARMA’s management.
“This is another example of how ARMA’s coordinated work provides the state with a tool for recovering illegally obtained assets. Tracing property in cases involving large-scale damage to natural resources is not only a matter of justice, but also of ensuring fair treatment of the nation’s wealth,” — emphasized Pavlo Velykorechanin, Deputy Head of ARMA.
