Public control over the activities of the National Agency is executed by the Public Council, nine members of which is approved by the Head of the National Agency based on results of open competition.

Members of the Public Council of the National Agency should be in line with criteria set out in paragraphs 1-3, 7 of Article 3 of the Law of Ukraine On the National Agency of Ukraine on tracing, finding and management of assets derived from corruption and other crimes.

The procedure for organizing and conducting of competition to the Public Council is defined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Competition to the Public Council carried out through an open online internet voting procedure by citizens living on the territory of Ukraine as prescribed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Meetings of the Competition Commission for selection of the Public Council are open to media and journalists.

Public Council entitle to:

• monitor reports on the activities, progress in implementation of plans and objectives of the National Agency;
• carry out public control over the spending of allocations from State Budget of Ukraine;
• provide the conclusions to drafts legal acts proposed by the National Agency;
• delegate two representatives to participate in the activities of the Interagency Commission on asset disposal and Competition Commission respectively.

Public Council has the right to obtain documents and information concerning the activities of the National Agency (except those with restricted access).
