ARMA will cooperate with Nordic police in tracing crypto assets

Today, on June 14, Deputy Head of ARMA Pavlo Velykorechanin met with Arttu Granat, Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Ukraine and Police Nordic Liaison Officer, to discuss the cooperation between the two entities. The main issue was the establishment of cooperation between ARMA and law enforcement agencies of the Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland) regarding the tracing of assets abroad. 

Pavlo Velykorechanin presented the main principles of ARMA's activities and the transformational changes the agency has undergone since the second half of 2023. Among them: the opening of the Unified State Register of Seized Assets, implemented changes to the process of selling confiscated assets through the Prozorro platform, effective management of seized funds through the purchase of military bonds, etc.

The Heads of ARMA's specialised departments, who also attended the meeting, presented successful cases and shared their experience of cooperation with international partners in tracing illegally obtained assets both in Ukraine and abroad.

Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Ukraine, in turn, shared the experience of law enforcement bodies of Finland and other Nordic countries in finding and tracing of assets, in particular, certain legislative aspects of confiscation and management of cryptocurrency assets.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further support and cooperation. Arttu Granat assured the representatives of ARMA in full support and assistance in finding and tracing of sanctioned persons' assets in the territory of the Nordic countries.
