02-04-2025

The National Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA), at the request of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC), has found and confirmed the presence of a house and land plot located in one of the most romantic and picturesque resorts of thesoutheastern coast of Andalusia in Spain with a total value of UAH 40.7 million, a sportsbranded crossover, accounts opened in Spanish banks owned by a deputy of the Odesa City Council and his close associates.

The search was carried out in cooperation with foreign competent authorities, thanks to anestablished mechanism for identifying unjustified assets abroad. According to availableinformation, the deputy currently resides in this estate in Spain.

"Systematic cooperation between anti-corruption agencies continues to prove its effectiveness. Thanks to the mechanism of cooperation between ARMA and NACP established last year, wedemonstrate that corrupt officials have nowhere to hide their illegally acquired assets - neither inUkraine nor abroad. We look forward to the seizure of these assets and their subsequent transferto ARMA. Together, we will return every hryvnia that was corruptly transferred abroad to thestate budget of Ukraine," said Pavlo Velykorechanin, Deputy Head of ARMA.

Last year, ARMA and the NACP developed a joint mechanism for tracing unjustified assetsabroad. This mechanism is now actively working, which was not the case in previous years. Thisis not the first case of successful tracing of assets of Ukrainian officials outside of Ukraine thanks to this cooperation.

According to available information, the NACP has also found other unjustified assets of the MP and his family totaling more than UAH 81.7 million, including non-residential premises andapartments in Odesa, corporate rights and a premium car.

The cooperation between ARMA and the NACP is aimed at ensuring the inevitability ofpunishment and the return of corruptly acquired assets to Ukraine. ARMA continues its large-scale work on identifying and tracing assets derived from corruption and other crimes both inUkraine and abroad.
