Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) continues to cooperate with international partners, studying and implementing the best European standards in its work.
ARMA, together with Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, took part in a training in Vienna, Austria. The event was part of a series of study visits aimed at strengthening the capacity of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies to investigate corruption cases, financial and economic crimes, and digital investigations.
The National Agency was represented by Andrii Paladii, Acting Director of the Digital Development Department of Asset Finding and Tracing. He was joined by representatives of the State Bureau of Investigation, the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Financial Monitoring Service.
The program of the visit covered a wide range of topics and included interaction with key Austrian institutions: Austrian Institute of Technology, Austrian National Police (ARO office - the Austrian equivalent of ARMA), Austrian Federal Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The participants had the opportunity to establish direct communication with their Austrian colleagues and learn about the best practices of EU countries in obtaining and collecting information for asset tracing.
The purpose of such meetings is not only to gain new knowledge, but also to lay the foundation for a long-term partnership. Each such visit is a step towards new agreements and more effective international cooperation.
This visit, organized with the support of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM), was an important step in establishing cooperation and exchanging experience between Ukrainian and Austrian experts in the field of fighting economic crime and corruption.
