ARMA's open communications as a tool for European integration

01-10-2024

Fighting corruption and effective asset management are key requirements on Ukraine's path to the EU. ARMA, as an integral part of the country's anti-corruption infrastructure, is actively working to strengthen its ability to meet European standards. A striking example of this was the Natolin4Capacity Building project, which was summarized on September 30 in Kyiv.

At the event “Natolin4Capacity Building: Empowering Civil Servants on the Path of Ukraine's Integration into the EU. Summarizing the project results and prospects for the future” brought together key players in the field of Ukraine's European integration.

Among the speakers were Olga Stefanishyna, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine - Minister of Justice; Oleksandr Yarema, State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine; Oleksandr Ilkov, Director General of the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine; Natalia Aliushyna, Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service. The event was also attended by representatives of the College of Europe, the Higher School of Public Administration, and the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

A total of 83 Ukrainian civil servants, including ARMA representatives, have been trained under the project. The Agency, representing the anti-corruption sector of Ukraine, took an active part in the Natolin4Capacity Building project. The ARMA team, including Acting Head of the Communications Department Yulia Kvitko and Advisor to the Head of ARMA Andrii Pozniak, successfully completed their studies at the College of Europe in Natolin (Warsaw, Poland), receiving official certificates from the European educational institution.

During the training, ARMA representatives had a unique opportunity to exchange experience with press secretaries of the European Parliament, colleagues from other Ukrainian and European government agencies, as well as experts in the field of communications and European integration.

ARMA's participation in the Natolin4Capacity Building project was an important step in enhancing the National Agency's capacity to effectively communicate its role in the fight against corruption and management of seized assets in the context of Ukraine's EU integration. The acquired knowledge and skills are already being implemented in the Agency's daily work, contributing to more effective communication with the public and partners.

It is worth reminding that the establishment of ARMA was one of Ukraine's commitments under the Action Plan on EU Visa Liberalization for Ukraine. Today, the Agency continues to play a key role in the process of European integration, focusing on transparency, efficiency and compliance with European standards in its activities.
