Public Council under ARMA resigns from its powers

Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) announces the termination of the Public Council under the ARMA, which has been in place since 2022. The relevant decision was made during the general meeting and approved by the Protocol  of the meeting.

During the full-scale war against Ukraine, the presence of the leadership of the Public Council in Kharkiv, the complications arising from the electricity supply and, accordingly, the ability to promptly work on urgent issues, in the absence of funds and funding, which was repeatedly drawn to the attention of the members of the Public Council, the possibility of constant participation in meetings of the commissions held by the National Agency offline, the previous resignation of four members of the Public Council on their own initiative, ARMA supports the the decision of the general meeting and thanks the corresponding decision made by the Public Council.

The National Agency will announce the new composition of the Public Council under ARMA in accordance with the current legislation and taking into account the requirements in force during the period of martial law in Ukraine.

In accordance with Article 12 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Agency of Ukraine for finding, tracing and management of assets derived from corruption and other crimes”, public control over the activities of the ARMA is ensured through the Public Council under the ARMA, whose nine-member composition is approved by the Head based on the results of the competition.

The Public Council was established in 2017 and has been re-elected several times since then.

The composition of the Public Council was approved by ARMA Order No. 31 of 25.01.2022 “On Approval of the Composition of the Public Council at ARMA”.

The Procedure for Organizing and Conducting a Competition for the Formation of the Public Council under the ARMA, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 86 of 21.02.2017, sets out the procedure for organizing and conducting a competition for the formation of the Public Council under the ARMA.
