The 11th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (COSP11) has concluded in Doha, Qatar. Acting Head of ARMA Yaroslava Maksymenko and Head of the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration Vladyslav Zhornytskyi took part in the Conference as members of the delegation led by the Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), Viktor Pavlushchyk. The event brought together representatives of governments, international organizations, and anti-corruption institutions to discuss key challenges in combating corruption and asset recovery.
Over the five days of COSP11, the main focus areas included international cooperation, effective monitoring, and transparency as practical tools for restoring trust and accountability. Particular attention was paid to asset recovery, the work of international cooperation networks, the implementation of innovative technologies, and the use of confiscated assets for the benefit of victims of corruption-related crimes and the armed aggression of the russian federation.
During the Conference, ARMA representatives held a number of bilateral meetings, including, on the final fifth day of COSP11, a meeting with the delegation of Lebanon. As a result of these discussions, agreements were reached to strengthen cooperation and to prepare for the signing of a memorandum of cooperation. Meetings were also held with representatives of partner countries and international organizations to exchange best practices in the field of asset tracing and management.
“Overcoming corruption is one of Ukraine’s key objectives with the support of international partners. Participation in COSP11 enabled us to strengthen international cooperation, expand our network of contacts, and present Ukraine’s experience in managing seized assets in wartime conditions,” Yaroslava Maksymenko noted.
ARMA continues to work on implementing international standards and solutions for effective asset recovery in the interests of the state and society, as international cooperation in preventing and combating corruption is the path toward building a shared future.
