ARMA employees took part in an interactive meeting

14-02-2019

On February 12, 2019, an interactive meeting "Anticorruption system: why do we need NABU, SAP, ARMA and NACP" took place on the initiative of the NGO "Transparency International Ukraine" and the Council of Public Control at NABU with the participation of representatives of anti-corruption bodies, the public and mass media.

During the event, participants discussed issues on the role and interaction of anti-corruption institutions, features of the top-level corruption investigation and emphasized the importance of launching the High Anti-Corruption Court.

Representing the Asset Recovery and Management Agency to the participants of the event, the Head of the International Department Liudmyla Sugak noted that the Agency has been operating for about year and a half and during this time, it can share successful cases on both asset finding and asset management.

"Unlike our foreign colleagues, we do not have the function of an initiative for finding assets and we may carry it out only upon request of law enforcement agencies or an investigating judge. We are tracing property both in Ukraine and abroad. We also have a positive and successful experience in managing active business, which even our foreign counterparts have no experience. We develop international cooperation. We are actively working on establishing territorial offices, we have a lot to praise and where to strive for, "said Liudmila Sugak.

Participants of the event had the opportunity to communicate personally with employees of ARMA, NABU and SAP. In particular, ARMA’s employees spoke on the specifics of finding, tracing of assets, which can be seized in criminal proceedings, the procedure for transferring seized assets into management of the company-manager, and the features of seized property management.
