Workshop on Financial Investigations and Cryptocurrency Crime: ARMA shares experience with international partners

On April 23-25, a workshop on Financial Investigations and Cryptocurrency Crime was held at Lutsk National Technical University. The National Agency was represented at the event by Vitalii Chubaievskyi, Head of the Asset Finding and Tracing Department, and Serhii Belov, Head of Division.

The workshop was also attended by representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform in Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine), Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine, Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine, State Bureau of Investigation, National Police of Ukraine, The State Financial Monitoring Service, The State Financial Monitoring Service and the National Academy of Internal Affairs. The seminar was opened by Iryna Vakhovych, Rector of Lutsk National Technical University, and Andrii Baran, EUAM Senior Adviser.

Vitalii Chubaievskyi presented a speech on the role of ARMA in financial investigations and asset recovery. In particular, he outlined the Agency's work during martial law, ARMA's structure, achievements and experience of cooperation with law enforcement bodies in the area of asset finding and tracing.

Vitalii Chubaievskyi noted that ARMA is one of the key institutions in Ukraine for fighting corruption and the National Agency is currently strengthening its cooperation with international partners in the field of asset tracing.

"The workshop was an excellent platform for strengthening cooperation in the field of asset finding and tracing between various institutions, both Ukrainian and international. In particular, during the event, we were able to establish ways of further cooperation with the Financial Investigation Unit of the Slovak Republic and law enforcement bodies of Romania," said Head of the Asset Finding and Tracing Department of ARMA.

As a reminder, on April 18, ARMA took part in an international conference on asset recovery in Central and Eastern Europe , where the Agency's representatives spoke about the challenges Ukraine is currently facing.
