Manager of seized and transferred to ARMA “Firtash's regional gas companies” will transmit almost UAH 227 million to the budget in 2024

29-12-2023

The State Joint Stock Company “Chornomornaftogaz”, the manager of seized “Firtash's regional gas companies”, plans to transfer UAH 226,750,000 to the state budget of Ukraine over the next six months of 2024.

It represents 85% of the estimated income from the management of these assets, which should amount to approximately UAH 266,764,700.

The company announced plans to replenish the state treasury following the results of the regular general meetings of shareholders of JSC`s “Lvivgaz”, “Kryvorizhgaz”, “Ivano-Frankivskgaz”, “Zhytomyrgaz”, “Sumygaz” and “Khmelnytskgaz” on  December 22, 2023. During the meetings of the supervisory boards of these companies, the procedure and terms of payment of dividends for 2021 and 2022 were approved.

As a reminder, on May 25, at the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, the Pechersk Court of the city of Kyiv transferred the seized corporate rights to 26 regional and city gas distribution system operators into management of ARMA. The Government then supported ARMA's proposal to transfer 26 regional gas companies into the management of “Chornomornaftogaz”. The assets were transferred using a special procedure.

The National Agency entered into an agreement with “Chornomornaftogaz” on
July 05, 2022 to manage the corporate rights of “Firtash's regional gas companies”.

On  October 17, this year, at the initiative of ARMA, an Interagency Working Group was set up with the Security Service of Ukraine on “Firtash's regional gas companies”. The group was tasked with the following tasks: ensuring that the necessary information and documents are received, preventing resistance and ensuring the effectiveness of management, including how the redistribution of profits at the end of the year will be carried out, as provided for in the management agreement.

ARMA's strategic goal is to ensure that the state budget receives revenues from the effective management of seized property. In addition, it is crucial for the Agency to ensure the stable operation of critical infrastructure facilities managed by ARMA that supply gas to the country's regions.
