On 23–25 June, Acting Head of ARMA Yaroslava Maksymenko and representatives of the National Agency will participate in the Council of Europe workshops in Strasbourg dedicated to the recovery, tracing and management of assets derived from criminal activity.
Today, financial crimes know no borders. Funds, real estate, corporate rights and other property may be concealed in different countries, making their tracing, seizure and recovery dependent on close international cooperation.
It is therefore during this event that ARMA will present Ukraine's experience in asset recovery, international cooperation and the management of property located both in Ukraine and abroad. In particular, discussions will focus on practical cases of cooperation with foreign partners, the management of complex assets and new approaches to international information exchange.
Special attention will be paid to the implementation of modern European standards in the field of asset recovery, the development of mechanisms for international legal assistance and the search for effective solutions to combat transnational crime.
Over recent years, Ukraine has developed its own expertise in tracing and managing seized assets, which is now attracting the interest of international partners. Participation in the Council of Europe events therefore provides an opportunity not only to adopt best practices, but also to share Ukrainian solutions and contribute to shaping modern approaches to asset recovery.
After all, the recovery of illicitly transferred assets is not only about combating crime. It is also about restoring justice, protecting the interests of the state and strengthening international security.
