The event was opened by Jill Thomas, Chairman of the BAMIN Secretariat, who emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation between regional countries and international partners to achieve common goals in the asset management sphere. Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) also participated in the meeting.
During the first day of the meeting, ARMA team presented a presentation on asset recovery using the example of the seized luxury yacht Royal Romance belonging to state traitor viktor medvedchuk. Representatives of the National Agency spoke in detail about the steps taken by ARMA and emphasised that this example will be the first in the establishment of an effective mechanism for the sale of seized assets abroad. ‘Within the framework of cooperation with the BAMIN network, ARMA has signed important memorandums of cooperation with Romania, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kazakhstan, which lays the groundwork for further strengthening of international cooperation. We firmly believe that this is only the beginning of enhancing our international cooperation,' said Vladyslav Zhornytskyi, calling on other partners to join such interagency cooperation. Over the next days of the meeting, a number of important issues will be discussed, including strengthening direct communication between member states and developing cooperation at the EU level as well as international platforms such as CARIN and EUROPOL.
