ARMA starts selling seized russian tanker Nika Spirit

18-11-2024

The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) announces the start of the process of selling the seized russian tanker Nika Spirit. This decision was made following a meeting of the Tender Commission for the Sale of Seized Assets.

In accordance with the approved procedure, ARMA will first hold a tender to select a seller of this asset. The selected seller, in turn, will organize a tender to find an independent appraiser for the Nika Spirit tanker.

Upon completion of the appraisal procedures, the asset will be put up for sale through the Prozorro.Prodazhi electronic system. This will ensure maximum transparency and competitiveness in the sale of this expensive property, which previously belonged to Russian owners.

As a reminder, the tanker Nika Spirit (before Neyma) was arrested in July 2019 in the port of Izmail. By court decision, this asset was subsequently transferred to ARMA for management. Given the need to promptly fill the state budget during the war, ARMA decided to focus on the sale of such property rather than searching for managers. Thus, the National Agency received a ruling from the Dniprovskyi District Court of Kyiv on the transfer of the Russian tanker Nika Spirit for sale.

The process of selling seized property through the Prozorro.Prodazhi system has already proven to be effective, ensuring regular revenues to the state budget. The successful case of the Nika Spirit tanker paves the way for large-scale and rapid revenues to the state budget in times of war.
