On January 20, 2025, Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) and the Advisory Council on War Veterans and Families of Fallen (Deceased) Defenders of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
The agreement was signed by the Head of ARMA Olena Duma and the Head of the Advisory Council Serhii Kunitsyn. The purpose of the Memorandum is to consolidate the efforts of both parties to ensure social guarantees for war veterans, combatants, persons with war-related disabilities, families of fallen Ukrainian defenders and other persons in need of support.
Key areas of cooperation include:
According to the Head of ARMA, this cooperation with the Advisory Council is not just the work of the two bodies. It is a symbol of how the country unites around its heroes.
“It is important to understand that behind every point of this Memorandum is a real person. This is a veteran who has returned from the front and is looking for his place in peaceful life. This is a family that has lost its breadwinner. This is a child whodreams of a decent future. And we must do everything to make them feel supported and, most importantly, confident that their contribution and sacrifices were not in vain,” said Olena Duma.
At the same time, the Head of ARMA emphasized that ARMA is systematically working to strengthen our Armed Forces by allocating funds for the needs of the Defense Forces and purchasing military bonds. To date, this amount has reached UAH 8 billion.
Chairman of the Advisory Board Sergiy Kunitsyn emphasized the importance of joining efforts to ensure social adaptation of Ukraine's defenders and their rights: “The signed Memorandum opens up new opportunities to address urgent issues of social protection of our heroes and their families.”
The first step in this cooperation was the meeting of the Chairman of the Advisory Council on Veterans' Affairs with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which took place immediately after the signing of the Memorandum. During the meeting, Sergiy Kunitsyn handed Ruslan Stefanchuk a letter from the Head of the ARMA regarding the need to recognize draft law No. 11009 as urgent so that ARMA could transfer seized sanatoriums for rehabilitation of the military under a simplified procedure.
The National Agency and the Advisory Council are confident that this interaction will be an important element in supporting veterans and overcoming social challenges in the current environment.
