The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) and the State Space Agency of Ukraine (SSA) are joining forces to introduce space technologies in the management of seized assets. The respective interagency agreement was signed by the heads of the agencies.
Thanks to the cooperation, ARMA will have access to remote sensing data, which will allow it to obtain high-quality images of the objects transferred to the Agency's management. Importantly, this will allow us to see the assets both in real time and in retrospect.
“I always say that ARMA will find criminal assets anywhere in the world. This is a revolutionary step in ARMA's work. Thanks to cooperation with SSA, we will be able to track assets literally from space - quickly, accurately and anywhere in the world. This is a revolutionary step in the fight against asset concealment,” said ARMA Head Olena Duma.
Volodymyr Mikheev, Acting Head of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine, emphasized: “Ukrainian space technologies will now work to ensure transparency in the management of seized assets. This is a great example of how interagency cooperation strengthens state institutions.”
The new capabilities will also be appreciated by potential bidders for asset management tenders - they will be able to remotely inspect facilities anywhere in the world, making the process more transparent and efficient.
In a time of war, it is especially important to be able to quickly record the condition and possible destruction of seized property. Space technologies will ensure constant monitoring of the objects.
The signing of the agreement was also attended by Deputy Head of the ARMA Stanislav Petrov, who coordinates the agency's digital transformation.
“The introduction of space technologies is another important step in the Agency's digital transformation. The use of satellite data brings ARMA's activities to a qualitatively new level: from asset tracing to control over their preservation and management,” added Stanislav Petrov.
ARMA continues to innovate. There are more digital solutions and projects ahead that will make the National Agency's work even more efficient.
