ARMA has taken another step towards transparency and openness: a draft law on strengthening the powers of the Public Council under ARMA has been registered in the Parliament

08-07-2024

Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) continues to implement the measures of the State Anti-Corruption Program (SAP).

At the initiative of ARMA, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine draft Law No. 11397, which provides for amendments to Article 12 of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Agency of Ukraine for Identification, Search and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes."

The bill envisages expanding the control powers of the Public Council under the National Agency and enabling the Public Council under ARMA to:

  • determine from among its members not less than 40 percent of the composition of the ARMA disciplinary commission;
  • to determine from among its members at least 40 percent of the composition of the competitive selection committee for vacant positions in ARMA;
  • to carry out public control over the legality and transparency of the determination of asset managers, in particular by determining the members of the Public Council under ARMA, who participate in the determination of asset managers

Also, the draft law envisages the publication by ARMA of the results of inspections of the effectiveness of the management of assets transferred to the management of the National Agency.

We would like to remind you that DAP is a document that outlines specific mandatory measures for all state bodies and local self-government bodies regarding the implementation of the Anti-corruption Strategy for the period 2021-2025. ARMA is part of the anti-corruption infrastructure of Ukraine, therefore the implementation of DAP is one of the priorities of the Agency's work.
