An Interagency Working Group has been established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to prepere proposals for the implementation of the Asset Recovery Strategy for 2023-2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Strategy).
The relevant decision was approved by the Government on November 17, 2023 under No. 1252.
Yulia Svyrydenko, the First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine, chaired the working group.
The draft resolution for the group's establishment was developed by the ARMA in accordance with the Operational Plan for the implementation of the Strategy.
The document approves the Regulation on the Interagency Working Group and its members.
The Group's activities will focus on analyzing the state of affairs and the root causes of problems within the national system for recovering assets illegally transferred abroad. Additionally, it will identify ways, mechanisms, and means to resolve problematic issues arising in the implementation of the state policy related to asset recovery, as well as work towards improving legislation on asset recovery etc.
The Interagency Working Group's efforts will ensure the coordinated actions of state authorities in implementing the Strategy and the Action Plan for its realization. This, in turn, will enhance efficiency and strengthen cooperation between the state authorities involved in its implementation.
As a reminder, on August 1, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Strategy developed by ARMA. Its adoption remained an essential element of Ukraine's commitments to the EU.
