On Wednesday, February 21, Deputy Head of the ARMA for European Integration, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Grigol Katamadze took part in an online meeting of the representatives of the European Commission and Ukraine on the official screening under the negotiating Title 23 "Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights and Freedoms".
Grigol Katamadze informed the audience about the main directions of ARMA's work, reforms and promising areas of activity in 2024.
"In January 2024, we met with representatives of the EU Advisory Mission Kyiv and officially requested that they consider our proposal to establish a Reform Office in ARMA in order to fully align the Agency's activities with the European standards," said Grigol Katamadze.
The Deputy Head of ARMA for European Integration noted that the National Agency uses Directive 2014/42 of the European Parliament and of the Council in its daily work and emphasized one of the important cases of ARMA.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Regional Court of Split (Croatia) for its decisions of May 23 and 26, 2022, for confiscating and transferring to ARMA for further sale an extremely expensive yacht Royal Romance, which belonged to Viktor Medvedchuk, accused of high treason against Ukraine, who was exchanged for several dozen Ukrainian prisoners of war, and thus for the first time in our history the decision of the LychakivDistrict Court of Lviv was legalized. I believe that this case will be brought to a logical and fair conclusion by the joint efforts of Ukrainian and Croatian competent authorities, which will mean that the yacht will be sold at a transparent competition and the proceeds will be used to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities," Grigol Katamadze emphasized.
At the end of the online meeting, Grigol Katamadze thanked the representatives of the European community for the dialogue and strong support of Ukraine.
