The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) is taking systematic steps to modernize the Register of Seized Assets. This was discussed at a working meeting between ARMA Head Olena Duma and Yuriy Syvitsky, a representative of Intecracy group, an international association of companies specializing in information and communication technologies.
During the meeting, the National Agency's team presented a plan and terms of reference for improving the Register of Seized Assets, which provides for the introduction of a number of new functions and capabilities of the resource.
“Exactly one year ago, ARMA opened access to the Register, which was a significant step in ensuring the transparency of the National Agency's work. However, having been created according to the terms of reference of 2016, the Register needs significant updates to meet modern requirements and challenges,” said ARMA Head Olena Duma.
“Improving the Register of Seized Assets is one of our top priorities. We aim to create a modern, effective tool that will ensure transparency and efficiency in the management of seized assets,” she added.
Among the planned improvements:
- Creation of a separate section with information on ARMA's procurement of War Bonds in national currency and assessment of their management efficiency.
- Introduction of a section to monitor ARMA's international cooperation in the field of tracing and management of seized assets (international interagency agreements and monitoring of their implementation).
- Adding a list and information on decisions to lift seizures.
- Including information on objects transferred under a special procedure in accordance with Article 21/1 of the law in the interests of the state.
An important aspect of the modernization is the improvement of the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). ARMA's IT specialists are focused on creating an intuitive and user-friendly interface that will allow users to easily navigate the system and work with data efficiently. It is planned to introduce an adaptive design that will ensure comfortable work with the Register.
Special attention is paid to the information architecture of the Registry. It is planned to optimize the data structure and navigation so that users can quickly find the information they need.
ARMA is actively working on drafting new regulations and amending special legislation to provide a legal basis for all planned innovations. The updated Register of Seized Assets will be a powerful tool in the fight against corruption and ensuring effective management of seized property.
