The signing took place with the presence of Grigol Katamadze, Deputy Head for the European Integration of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA), and Cornel Calinescu, Director General of the National Agency for the Management of Seized Assets (ANABI) of Romania, during the working visit of ARMA's delegation to Romania.
The visit began at the Embassy of Ukraine in Romania and a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Romania Ihor Prokopchuk.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the office of the Romanian Agency. During the meeting with the ANABI team, Grigol Katamadze spoke about the work of the Ukrainian Agency and assured colleagues of his readiness for further fruitful cooperation.
"Every day we do our best to keep our work transparent, and we see that this strategy is working - the trust of the public and partners in ARMA is being restored. Our team is making the National Agency stronger step by step. I am confident that the signing of the Memorandum with ANABI will strengthen us even more," said Grigol Katamadze.
In his turn, the Director General of ANABI briefed the Ukrainian delegation on the work of the agency he chaired, focusing on the key aspects of managing seized assets. Cornel Calinescu assured that the Agency is ready to start online consultations on the exchange of experience in the field of tracing and management of seized assets.
"The models for the effective management of seized assets are different in each country, and the specifics of the region leave their imprints on this. I am confident that by sharing our experience, each of us will form our own unique model, which can shape new approaches to work aimed at increasing the efficiency of each agency," summed up the ANABI Director General.
