The Head of EUAM Rolf Holmbo met with the Head of ARMA Olena Duma, representatives of the NABU, Cyber Police, and relevant universities and the State Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine at the EUAM headquarters on April 18 to review the interim results of the Digital Detective programme in Ukraine.
Head of EUAM Ukraine Rolf Holmbo noted that digital technologies and digital footprint analysis will become increasingly important in the future. EUAM is therefore pleased to cooperate in this area with competent representatives in Ukraine.
"We greatly believe that the equipment and software provided, as well as the training and skills acquired, will help to expand the possibilities of digital forensics work," said Rolf Holmbo, addressing the audience.
Olena Duma thanked EUAM for its significant contribution to the development of Ukraine's anti-corruption agencies.
" Specifically, the software products, training and capabilities you have provided in particular to ARMA are invaluable in finding and tracing assets. I am confident that with your help, we will be able to improve the Agency's work in the field of anti-corruption and digital investigations even more effectively," said Olena Duma.
In the beginning of April 2024, ARMA presented the concept of creating a new profession of "Digital Detective" to representatives of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and international institutions.
In 2021, EUAM initiated the Digital Detective (D30) programme, which also involved ARMA staff. Its main mission is to enhance the capacity of law enforcement agencies to conduct digital investigations.
As part of the project, D30 participants were provided with a set of modern equipment and software, as well as appropriate training.
In total, EUAM has provided almost one million hryvnias worth of equipment and specialised software packages to ARMA over the period 2021-2024 in the framework of the Digital Detective programme.
