Head of ARMA and Ambassador of Estonia agree on cooperation

13-03-2024

The Head of ARMA, Olena Duma, had an important meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine, Annely Kolk.

In addition to the fact that Estonia has provided Ukraine with military aid worth around €500 million or more than 1.3% of its GDP, the subject of discussion was the establishment of cooperation with the relevant Estonian institutions. The head of ARMA proposed also to sign an interagency international agreement.

Mrs. Ambassador informed that Estonia has developed and submitted to the Parliament Amendments of the International Sanctions Act - a draft law that defines how russian frozen assets can be used and the procedure for their transfer to Ukraine. The importance of the draft law is that it would encourage other European countries to use the Estonian model.
In her turn, Olena Duma assured that ARMA will continue to work on the sale of seized assets abroad and the need to strengthen cooperation to legalize decisions of national courts and further use them.

"This is not only about strengthening the international status, but also about possible available mechanisms for the sale of seized assets abroad," summarized Olena Duma the results of the meeting with the Ambassador.
