Course for European integration: a group of ARMA civil servants starts learning English

15-01-2024

Sixteen civil servants of the ARMA central office have been enrolled in this year's general professional (certificate) training program, "Foreign Language in Public Administration (English)" (Level I-II).

The training initiation is based on the order of the Higher School of Public Administration dated 01.09.2023, No. 729-C/23, titled "On Conducting Training on General Professional (Certificate) Programmes of Advanced Training in Foreign Languages of the Year 2023."

At the same time, twenty-eight civil servants of the ARMA central office are already participating in an online English language course under the general short-term program "English for Public Servants." This program was developed and implemented by EF Education First, one of the world's largest international educational organizations.

In general, ARMA staff can take online courses through self-education using free platforms:

  • Prometheus: "English for Beginners. Elementary level (A1-A2)", "English for Career Development", "English for Media Literacy", "Business English"
  • EducationEra: "English. Morphology."
  • Educational Hub of Kyiv: "Learning English"
  • LINGVA SKILLS is a Ukrainian project for free English language learning from the Association of Innovative and Digital Education and the Skills Academy.

Learning and improving the level of English is one of the key components of the National Agency's staff development. The need of mastering this language is constantly brought to the attention of ARMA's central office staff and newly appointed employees.

At the national level, English language proficiency is considered one of the priority areas for professional training within the framework of civil service reform. It is particularly important in connection with Ukraine's European integration.
