The Government has supported amendments to the Law of Ukraine on the National Agency on the use of sanatorium and resort facilities for the needs of the military initiated by ARMA

09-02-2024

On  February 9th, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Draft Law
“On Amendments to Article 21 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and other Crimes” to improve the efficiency of asset management".

The Draft Law provides for the effective use and management of assets, which will allow to provide housing or temporary accomodation in sanatoriums for military personnel and people who lost their homes during the war in Ukraine, in particular:

  • provide military personnel and their families with housing;
  • to accommodate internally displaced persons in order to implement the state social programmes;
  • to rehabilitate military personnel, including those discharged from military service as a result ofillnesses related to the performance of military service and war veterans;
  • to ensure the readiness of public authorities to carry out measures for the protection of the state sovereignty and its defence capability, civil defence tasks in a special period, in particular during the period of martial law.

As a reminder, ARMA has about 140 seized health resort facilities under its management.

In accordance with international asset management practices, seized property can be transferred forsocial needs: hospitals, rehabilitation centres, etc.

We expect that the Verkhovna Rada will support this draft law so that the sanatorium facilities and other assets transferred into ARMA`s management will ensure physical and psychological rehabilitation of servicemen, which is extremely important in the context of russian armed aggression against Ukraine, because rehabilitation, medical and psychological assistance to servicemen who have been injured and diseased during hostilities on the Ukrainian territory remains one of the state's priorities.
