Head of ARMA Olena Duma meets with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania H.E. Mr. Alexandru Victor Micula

Olena Duma briefed the Ambassador on ARMA's activities, outlined the Agency's future plans for the current year, as well as the achievements and biggest challenges that the National Agency has successfully overcome and which are still being addressed through systematic, persistent work and ongoing challenges.

"For the first time in the history of Ukraine, the ARMA has launched a tender for the sale of a seized asset located abroad. On March 20, 2024, was held a meeting of the Commission for Competitive Selection of Legal Entities Engaged in the Sale of Seized Assets, the yacht of collaborator Viktor Medvedchuk Royal Romance. We need to intensify our work on other assets involved in criminal proceedings and located abroad, in particular in Romania," said Olena Duma.

The Head of ARMA noted a number of gaps in the national legislation that prevent the National Agency from fully unlocking its potential and presented ARMA's legislative initiatives to resolve them.

Mr Micula spoke about the Romanian experience of resolving legal conflicts during the negotiation process of accession to the European Union. He also assured that Romania is ready to continue comprehensive support to Ukraine in various areas, including cooperation in the field of finding, tracing and management of assets derived from criminal activity.

Both parties are interested in further fruitful cooperation and convinced that working together on various initiatives will contribute to partnership development.

Olena Duma expressed her gratitude to the people and the Government of Romania for their strong support to Ukraine in countering russian aggression.
