28-02-2024

On February 28, the Head of ARMA, Olena Duma, held important talks with the Director of the Seized Property Management Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Emir Bašić. The main topic of the meeting was important issues of post-war reconstruction and mechanisms for bringing to justice those responsible for war crimes.

"This is a very important meeting not only for ARMA, but for the country as a whole. War and war crimes. Bringing traitors to justice and economic satisfaction for the state. Fighting organized crime and corruption. Post-war reconstruction," said Olena Duma, drawing attention to the common challenges that Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina are facing today, which are an important experience for both countries.

Emir Bašić, for his part, confirmed his readiness for future cooperation and shared his extensive experience in the fight against corruption and organized crime. His competencies include working in senior positions in the judiciary, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor's Office, and in the fight against drug trafficking.

The practice and experience gained in the process of post-war reconstruction and punishment for war crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be used by Ukrainian authorities, including the Agency.

The parties exchanged a draft of a future interagency agreement and expressed confidence in long-term and constructive cooperation.
