On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the Head of ARMA Olena Duma and Deputy Head of ARMA for European Integration Grigol Katamadze met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia, Her Excellency Anica Djamic.
The Head of ARMA briefed the Ambassador on the Agency's activities, its first priority tasks and prospects for the current year.
As a central executive body authorized to formulate and implement state policy in the field of finding and tracing of assets that can be seized and management of seized assets, ARMA contributes to filling the state budget and strengthening the country's defense capabilities.
"Now all attention in Ukraine is focused on two main areas: to protect the independence and territorial integrity of the country and to prepare for a fruitful negotiation process with the European Union for Ukraine's complete membership in it," said Duma.
The Head of the ARMA also emphasized the amendments to the regulatory legal acts of Ukraine (initiated by the National Agency), which harmonize the procedure for the sale of seized assets with the rules applied by European and other international organizations. These changes will allow, among other things, to sell the yacht owned by Viktor Medvedchuk's family and currently located in the port of Trogir (Republic of Croatia).
Deputy Head of ARMA for European Integration Grigol Katamadze presented potential modalities of cooperation with the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets of the Republic of Croatia and proposed to consider the possibility of concluding an interagency agreement on partnership and cooperation in order to establish effective cooperation, exchange of best practices, and improve the efficiency of interaction between the two agencies.
Both sides are convinced that working together on various initiatives will contribute to the development of partnerships.
The Head of ARMA thanked the Government and people of the Republic of Croatia for their comprehensive support of Ukraine.
